Potential? Changes! to Issue 2 being debated by the Ohio legislature

Last Update 12/15/2023

Multiple house bills have been proposed, or been altered to have language included, to change Voter Issue 02 as passed by Ohio voters.
Some of these potential alterations include some reasonable and necessary things: like tying the way we treat adult consumption cannabis procedures to our existing Ohio liquor and tobacco use and sales codifications, so we can sort out how to stay organized, accountable, and safe as Ohioans together. (Hey, some pesticides we don’t want to smoke).
Others include increasing the tax rate(by a lot or a little) and how tax money from Ohio Adult Use Cannabis Dispensary sales will be directed and used.
Other proposed changes do include things that block accessibility or product viability indirectly, or fully remove protections for buckeye rights like home growing and academic freedom.

An upcoming newssheet may run a comparison.

The following is one of the main House Bills.

Other’s may be listed here in future updates, but all of DuckDuckGo.com is at our disposal.

The large paragraph crossed out for removal House Bill 341(HB341) passes to make changes to Voter Issue 2:

The Language
"(G) A legislative authority of a municipal corporation or a board of township trustees is prohibited from:
(1) Adopting an ordinance or resolution limiting research related to marijuana conducted at a state university, academic medical center, or private research and development organization as part of a research protocol approved by an institutional review board or equivalent entity;
(2) Levying any tax, fee, or charge on adult use cannabis operators, their owners or their property which is not generally charged on other businesses in the municipal corporation or township;
(3) Prohibiting or limiting home grow otherwise authorized under this chapter; and
(4) Prohibiting or restricting an activity that is authorized by this chapter.

To be clear, the above paragraph and all the protections listed therein would be removed if Ohio state lawmakers pass HB341 this week. After the holiday break??

Too many folks of this demographic have been brainwashed into believing the Media hype that Cannabis is Evil.

CSCC aims to share factual, up to date, and science based information with the public, and offer education, consultation, (installation?) with the most accessible equipment to the over 50 crowd.

Educated cultivation, informed consumption, at patients’ convenience.
